Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor is an American screen and stage actress, best recognized for her roles in films on the film Ray Undercover Brother and on the tv show The Mentalist. She earned a Bachelor of Arts at Brown University in African-American Studies. At the Tisch School of the Arts, New York University she obtained an MFA. Aunjanue is l. Ellis, an American actor and producer who has worked in theater and television as and is active on both sides of the screen. She started acting on stage before appearing in mainstream, independent, and television series. She became famous as Miranda Shaw in ABC's Quantico as well as on BET's epic drama The Book of Negroes. For both of these roles she was praised by critics and received a variety of nominations and awards, including an award from the Television Critics Choice Award for Best Actress. Her professional acting debut with the character Ariel in The Tempest in 1995. In addition to Broadway's Come and Gone, she is also credited in Drowning Crow and Seeking the Genesis. In the film industry she is most famous for performances such as Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express or The Help. In the world of television, her role in the ABC's crime drama series High Incident has earned her the praise of her fellow actors.
