AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player. She is a striker and captains for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), the highest division of women's soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team with Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe from the year 2018 until 2020. [8][9] Morgan was selected by the Western New York Flash at number one in the 2011 WPS Draft. She had completed her studies at Berkeley early. Morgan also played for California Golden Bears. Morgan made her debut with the club and assisted the team win the league championship. Morgan 22, then 22 years aged, was the smallest national player in the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011, where she was second. In the 123rd min of the semifinal match against Canada in the 2012 London Olympics she scored the match-winning goals. She ended 2012 with 28 goals, 21 assists, and Mia Hamm was the only American woman who scored both 20 and 20 goals. This made her the sixth-youngest U.S. player ever to score 20 goals in a single season. She was then awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Athlete of Year and was a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan helped the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. She was also named to the Dream Team. In 2019, Morgan won the Silver Boot.
